About Us

We are proud to present a recap of the main projects completed in 2023. In this year, we handed over three HCW3 type machines to customers from China, South Korea. We also handed over the HCW1 machine to a German customer. We completed the overhaul of the W160HC headstock for a Czech customer. In November 2023, we handed over our two largest machines, the SR4000 lathe and the S-MT 200 multifunction machine.
We also shipped several milling and boring heads on separate orders for Czech customers.

The company has always had a strong research, development and construction-technological potential of creative workers and manage a lead in the technical level of its products. Many of our original solutions are protected by patent proceedings or industrial and utility models. It regularly introduces new products to strengthen its market share.

COOPERATION AND SUBSIDY PROGRAMS

As part of Development and Research, we cooperate with research organizations and universities in the Czech Republic. We also use grant projects to support development and research.

ŠMT, a.s., is one of the major global manufacturers of machines intended for machining metal, non-metal and composite materials of all geometric shapes and sizes across a whole spectrum of industries. The Company’s primary activities include the production of horizontal boring machines and horizontal lathes, their accessories, performance of general overhauls of machines and other related servicing activities.

The history of machine tool production dates back to 1911. Year by year, their production and share of exports increase, and SMT machine tools of various types and designs become a symbol of high technical level, reliability and perfect design.

Machining can take many forms and ŠMT is equally diverse. Aside from the parent company, it includes a subsidiary in the People’s Republic of China.   A certain level of individuality is an important way for us to always be the best hoice for our customers.

Was sold the biggest HBM in the history of ŠKODA.

Development of the high speed machines type HCW 2000-4000.

The establishment of the branch ŠKODA EASTERN in China, which follows the concept of the joint venture, with Chinese partner founded in 1997.

Development of the concept of HCW and FCW - type HBM.

Development of the concept of SR - type lathes.

Finishing of the development of first two biaxial continuously controlled heads for five-axis machining - UFK 1600.

The concept of machines was affected by the cooperation (joint venture) with German company Dörries Scharmann.

Was started the production of machines with hydrostatic guiding.

ŠKODA starts the production of CNC machines. 

Horizontal boring machine ŠKODA WD 200 won the gold medal on the EXPO in Brussels.

Electromotors began to be used by all machines.
