Based on the positive evaluation of benefits of the cooperation for both sides had been founded in March 1993 the joint venture and the plant Machine Tools Škoda was renamed on ŠKODA MACHINE TOOL s.r.o. The advantage for ŠMT considered especially in an agreement, that DS let produce heavy horizontal boring ang milling machines of type Heavycut. The production had been moved to Pilsen and ŠMT became "Center of Competence" in the field of heavy horizontal boring and milling machines for the whole group DS.
The cooperation with the company DS was terminated in 1996, for the reason of its bankruptcy.
