ŠKODA MACHINE TOOL has consistently innovated all its key products. One of the company’s core-business items is the HCW type series of heavy horizontal boring machines with spindle diameter 150 to 300mm, maximum speed 1500 to 3000 r.p.m. and the main-drive power output 60 to 130 kW.

Within the company product lines, the heavy horizontal machines are suitable complemented by the lighter horizontal milling machines of the FCW series with spindle diameter 140 or 150mm, speed up to 3000 r.p.m. and the main-drive power output of 40kW. Horizontal work stations can be equipped with turntables TDV with loading capacity 25 to 400t, various types of milling and boring heads and other accessories of company’s proprietary design. Regarding heavy lathes, a new modular product line designated SR has been launched. These machines make possible turning of work pieces of diameter from 1000 to 5200mm and weight of 16 to 350t. All modern ŠMT machine tools are of modular design that can easily accommodate special customer requirements and combine various technological solutions to build work stations specialised in the machining of generator rotor shafts, steam turbine shafts, heavy crankshafts and other extra large work pieces of complex shapes.

One of the company’s strong points is focus on development of capabilities to upgrade and modernise earlier company products where the modernised machine tools are brought up-to-date regarding operational reliability and labour efficiency. Apart from that, the parameters of the machines in customer service can be continually improved through application of modern machine accessories.
