ŠMT employs a staff of 421. The company premises are located in Plzeň and are easy to reach by road or public transport.

The human resources development policy is primarily targeted at:

• college graduates, people with complete secondary-school education and vocational training
• personal and professional development of staff
• continuous education and training programmes

The company offers jobs/positions to people with qualifications in the following fields:
product design – project engineering – production technology – sales – product acceptance – technical inspection – horizontal-machine operator – machine-tool operator – fitter - electrician

Newly-hired staff will undergo an initiation programme within which they will get information on the work performed by individual company departments and on the company functions as a whole.

The company organise language courses (English, German and Russian languages) for staff. Lectures take place at the company premises in the afternoons and the Human Resources department pay part of the course fee.
